Most Health services are split into three types

  • Universal Health services - are services that are available to everybody and can be accessed by anyone without additional support for example: GPs, dental services, pharmacy and Public Health nursing.
  • Specialist Health services - support people with a range of rare and complex conditions. They often involve treatments provided to patients with complex medical conditions like Integrated Community Paediatric Services, Paediatric Learning Disability Nursing and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
  • Therapy Services - are health care professionals that include Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Audiology.

Brief information can be found on individual services from the relevant links above and each service has a link to the relevant NHS\Northern care alliance web-page for additional information around referral pathways, services offered and how to find each service (Location).
