Down Syndrome UK Early Years Development Programme

Down Syndrome UK's Early Years Development Programme offers a comprehensive package of information, resources and ongoing support to early years professionals working with a child with Down syndrome. It includes over 60 expert-led video resources covering topics such as:

  • An introduction to Down syndrome and the learning profile of those with Down syndrome.
  • Promoting communication, development of speech, early reading and numeracy skills.
  • Health and physical development, including toilet training and physiotherapy.

All are tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children with Down syndrome.

Professionals can access ongoing support via regular online training/support sessions facilitated by professionals with extensive experience and knowledge of working with preschool children with Down syndrome. These sessions will cover various topics including behaviour, supporting communication, reading, health and physical development. In addition, there is a comprehensive printed range of resources to support children, providing a practical toolkit for everyday use.
