Bury’s SEND Graduated Approach Toolkit is designed to improve accessibility and inclusion and remove barriers to learning through early identification of needs, reasonable adjustments and targeted support as part of a graduated approach. A graduated approach draws upon the four part cycle of Assess, Plan, Do and Review and is in addition to Ordinarily Available Provision. During this four part cycle approaches are revisited, refined and revised building on a growing understanding of learners’ needs and the support needed in helping them to make good progress and secure good outcomes.
This Setting & School Staff section has been written for all professionals (early years practitioners, teaching and support staff), working within educational settings across the 0-25 age range.
The Toolkit familiarisation session that has been offered to all school practitioners is available to view here: Familiarisation Session on Vimeo.
The guidance is set out below for Early Years, Schools and Post 16 Settings.
The Post-16 section is under development.
