Hate crime can have a devastating effect on someone’s life.

We all have a right to live without fear and intimidation from others because of who we are.

Next week (2-8 Feb) is Hate Crime Awareness Week in Greater Manchester and we're taking a stand against hate with a number of events taking place. These will be publicised below.

The campaign highlights Greater Manchester’s zero tolerance to hate crime and encourages both victims and witnesses to take a stand and report hate crime.

Greater Manchester is a place where we all look out for each other, stick up for one another and stand together.

Everyone is free to be themselves. Hate crime has no place here.

Through the Bury Community Safety Plan partners work together to tackle hate crime, to support victims of offences, and build stable and cohesive communities.

Bury Council is committed to preventing and reducing the levels of hate crime by ensuring the victims and witnesses of hate crime are supported and offenders are brought to justice.

More than 88% of reported hate crimes in the North West are met with a conviction.

Third party reporting centres offer anonymous advice and support and are not connected to the police.

Hate crime has no place here. Report it and get support: www.letsendhatecrime.com

Bee in the Loop

Greater Manchester Police’s new community messaging system ‘Bee in the loop’ allows you to choose what information you would like to know about including crime and incidents in your local area. The system is also an invaluable investigative tool and can be used to appeal for information or intelligence and help to solve crime.
