Radcliffe Library will be temporarily closed from 1.00pm on Saturday 3 October 2026 as preparations are made to move services into the new Hub building in Radcliffe town centre.
The library and other services will open at the Hub by late autumn 2026.
The exact opening date will be announced nearer the time.
We thank you for your patience while we prepare your new library space.

Library services during the temporary closure
To take account of the temporary closure period, there will be some adjustments to our services.
Borrowed books
- Books borrowed from Radcliffe Library after Saturday 12th September can be returned when The Hub is open.
Fines
- While Radcliffe Library is closed, there will be no Radcliffe Library overdue fines.
Reserved books
- Customers will be able to reserve books online to collect from another library.
Alternative libraries
Our Bury, Prestwich and Ramsbottom libraries will be open as usual during the Radcliffe Library temporary closure.
About the new library at The Hub
Facilities at The Hub will include:
- A purpose-built modern, larger library accessible for all
- New furniture and fittings
- A dedicated ground floor children’s library
- New books and a local history collection tailored to Radcliffe
- Access to e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines from Borrowbox
- Free public wi-fi and computer access on two floors
- Reading and relaxation areas
- Community space to support Radcliffe's community groups and to provide opportunities for learning
