The Welly Community Cafe
Bury EST staff and customers operate the cafe which is open to the public Monday - Friday from 10am to 3pm. It is a training kitchen and allows our customers to develop catering and hospitality experience and skills. Which may become an area of employment that they wish to pursue.
Bowling Green
There is also a bowling green which is maintained by Bury EST, allowing our customers to develop gardening skills along with the use of a variety of tools and equipment. These skills and experience could lead to employment in ground maintenance. Bowls are available to hire in order to play a game. A game with hire of bowls is £1.50 per person, use of the green with own bowls is £1. Annual memberships are also available. For more details ask inside the cafe.
Products for sale
Our customers work with support staff to make a variety of wooden products. These are handmade from upcycled wood. These projects enable customers to build up soft skills such as resilience, perseverance, teamwork. Skills which are deemed essential and are welcomed in the workplace.
Planters, birdboxes, bird feeders, shelves and even a dog house have been lovingly worked on to completion.
