Digital Inclusion & Skills Support

At Bury Council, our Bury Works Digital for All campaign is dedicated to equipping residents with comprehensive resources and support to thrive in the digital age. Our initiative offers access to a wide array of tools and resources designed to enhance digital literacy, including learning platforms and digital courses for all skill levels.

We are committed to assisting you with any technology and digital-related queries, ensuring you have the support needed to navigate and excel in the increasingly digital world. Build-a-Business

The Build A Business in Bury Libraries workshops offer support for new and aspiring entrepreneurs through workshops, events, and one-on-one sessions. Topics include market research, business planning, Intellectual Property, and more. The program is fully funded, but attendees must cancel in advance if they cannot attend to avoid being barred from future sessions.

Upcoming workshops include sessions on "Know Your Customer," "Marketing," "Business Basics," and "Intellectual Property." The initiative is part of a broader project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Enterprising You

Enterprising You is a government-funded program offering free support to self-employed individuals, freelancers, and gig economy workers in Greater Manchester.

The program provides access to a range of services, including personalised coaching, training, financial planning, and health and wellbeing support, aimed at helping individuals grow and sustain their businesses. It is designed to assist those earning below £27,000 annually.

Community Skills Public Health

Bury Adult Learning offers Community Skills Public Health courses designed to upskill residents, professionals, and community organisations in health-related areas. These courses aim to empower participants with knowledge and skills to improve public health within the community. Topics include mental health, wellbeing, and healthy living, among others. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance community engagement and support health education.

Bury Works Neighbourhub

The Bury Hub, launched by Ingeus, Bury Council and other partners, provides a dedicated space for residents to access employment support, training, and community services. It represents a partnership effort to boost local opportunities and enhance community support in Bury.

Seetec Pluss has secured contracts with the National Careers Service to provide career advice and support across several UK regions. These contracts will help individuals access personalised career guidance, improve their skills, and find employment. The initiative is part of Seetec Pluss's broader mission to empower people and enhance their job prospects.

Employ GM

EmployGM is a platform that connects Greater Manchester residents with employment opportunities, training, and support services. It offers resources for job seekers, employers, and those seeking to upskill, aiming to boost local employment and economic growth. The service provides access to career advice, job listings, and training programs, helping users navigate their career paths.

Prestwich Works

Prestwich Works at JEWEL is a service offering employment support, training, and guidance to residents in Prestwich, helping them find work, develop skills, and build confidence. The service is tailored to meet individual needs, providing one-on-one support and connecting people with local job opportunities and educational resources.

ADAB – One Community One Bury

ADAB is a charity organisation based in Bury, dedicated to supporting the local community, particularly ethnic minorities, through various services and initiatives. These include education and training programs, youth activities, community events, and advocacy work to promote social inclusion, health, and wellbeing. ADAB aims to empower individuals and improve community cohesion.
