Holiday club support - choosing activities for children with additional needs
In response to feedback, we have streamlined the booking process for the families of children with additional needs to make it clear what suitability support level is available at each holiday club.
So that you can choose activities with the most suitable support for your child, we have identified four key categories to clearly show the level of care that each of our holiday clubs can provide.
These range from Level 1 (mild needs, fairly independent), through to Level 4 (more severe needs, dedicated support needed).
About the four suitability support levels
This club will be suitable for children and young people who have mild needs, who are able to go to the toilet and eat their lunch with correct supervision but do not need direct support in doing so.
This level is suitable for children who do not present risky behaviours such as being of harm to themselves or others.
Please let the activity provider know any relevant information that may affect your child's experience.
This club will be suitable for children and young people who have moderate needs, those who may need direct support with personal care and may need one to one support with eating their lunch.
Please let the activity provider know any relevant information and/or a copy of the child's personal care plan in advance of the session.
This club will be suitable for children and young people who are known to demonstrate risky behaviours such as being of harm to themselves or others.
It would be expected that increased staffing numbers are a standard to accommodate the children's needs and requirements.
Please let the activity provider know any relevant information and/or a copy of the child's personal care plan in advance of the session.
This club will be suitable for children and young people who have moderate to severe needs, those who may need direct support with personal care and may need one to one support with eating their lunch.
These children and young people may also be known to demonstrate risky behaviours such as being of harm to themselves or others.
Please let the activity provider know all relevant information and provide them with a copy of the child's EHCP plan in advance of the session.
SEND providers
Providers offering SEND accessible activities give clear guidance of their provision to ensure you are well informed as to the suitability of the activities.
Please ensure that you give the provider as much information as possible relating to the level of support and care your child will need to enable them to give the best possible experience to your child.
Our providers do their utmost to support children with SEND where possible.
Providers and activities information
Absolute
At Absolute Futbol, we’re more than just sports coaches - we’re passionate about giving every child a place to belong, learn, and thrive during the school holidays. Our team has years of experience working in schools and the community, and we know what it takes to make a child’s day unforgettable, while supporting families and the wider community too. Here’s what you can expect from our HAF delivery:
Physical activity – active bodies, happy minds
Every single day of our camp includes a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity, meeting and often exceeding CMO guidelines. But we don’t stop there. Our sessions are built around variety, enjoyment, and progress. Whether it’s team games, fun relays, dance, or skill-building drills, there’s something for everyone - no matter their ability or confidence level. Children can also earn achievement awards, build their physical literacy, and explore long-term opportunities through our pathways into local clubs and grassroots sport.
Enriching Activities – Fun With Purpose
Alongside sport and food, we give children space to explore, express, and discover.
- Activities are designed with input from the children, reflecting what they’ve enjoyed and asked for
- From STEM experiments to arts and crafts, LEGO building, and more - no two days are the same
- We celebrate effort and resilience through small rewards and shoutouts
- Here is a list of specialist enriching activities; Laser Tag, inflatables, archery, Nerf Zone, fencing, Ultimate Frisbee, curling, glow in the dark dodgeball and many more
- We will invite visitors like police officers, fire crews, and dental nurses to speak with the children - offering a fun way to learn about community roles and safety. These visits are always a hit (especially when toothbrushes and helmets are involved!)

Bee Inclusive
Social activities for children/young people with Special Education Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), for primary and secondary aged children. A variety of activities that are inclusive for a broad range of disabilities and needs. Depending on the venue size and capacity, we aim to keep the activities to smaller group sizes to ensure that it is manageable for our children of whom many have sensory processing difficulties.
All of our activities will be exclusively booked so that our families feel as comfortable as possible. Bee Inclusive acts as the booking agent for the activities and generally uses external providers. Due to the varying complexities of the children/young people's needs, at all our activities a parent/carer must stay to supervise their child/young person. This supports peer-peer support between parents/carers and helps promote a network of support and friendship for children/young people.
To meet the needs of the children/young people and to ensure a quality accessible offer, our activities are located in a variety of locations across Bury and the surrounding area.
Trampolining and Soft Play - Jump Xtreme, Bolton. This is a 2 hour activity of trampolining and soft play, catering for primary and secondary aged children/young people. This is an exclusive booking for children/young people with SEND only.
This means that our families will have the whole of Jump Xtreme to themselves, allowing plenty of space between families. Parent/carers can support children on the trampolines if their needs require it, and this builds on the offer of supporting family fun. Children can freely move between the soft play area, “That Fun Place” and the trampolining area, so they have a choice of activity. A cold food option from Jump Xtreme will be provided.

The Enterprise Centre Limited
The Enterprise Centre also operates as 'The Naturally Enterprising Hub' from our purpose-built outdoor education and conservation centre which is situated at Square Lodge in the heart of The Kirklees Valley Nature Reserve.
Our purpose is to capacity build and develop confidence and resilience for young people, long term NEET and others who need our help and support. We do this by encouraging individuals to access the many benefits of nature and animals whilst contributing to the development of local community green spaces, climate change projects, conservation and social action projects.
We have provided many holiday activity programmes in the past and always have a large waiting list.
We are also an Alternative Education Provider working with SEN young people and providing bespoke Equine Assisted Learning 1:1 or 1:3.
Each personal curriculum aims to assist young people, back to school, into work and or further training. We are on The Quality Framework for Quality Alternative Provision in Bury. Our small numbers does not allow us to register with Ofsted, we do however have in place all systems and staffing levels at QTS that would be required.
We deliver 2 x 2 days programme of 4 hour activities including a healthy lunch for the 2 weeks of the Easter holidays. Each programme would require the use of 2 vouchers. Each group would be limited to 8 for health and safety in line with our risk assessment maximum of 1:4 for 11+.
Our 2 staff are qualified teachers and equine specialists and our volunteers over 16 mentors and previous attendees, all have full DBS.
We aim to raise standards, increase awareness, reduce loneliness and raise achievements in young people using natural Science and its effects on the future stability of the local and wider environments. This will include species protection, land and water management, growing and working towards sustainable living. We will do this by making action-focused fun sessions designed to support all of the above, whilst wrapping around self-actualization, resilience and enterprise skills. This year we are also focusing our workshops on climate change, and this will promote sustainable gardening and protecting the environment using nature itself.
Working with the 5 horses and other animals will increase leadership skills, improve communication and teamwork.
