We maintain in the region of 6,000 trees growing along the roadside across the Bury borough
These trees are inspected every two years and a programme of pruning work is carried out by specially trained staff every six years. Modern equipment and pruning techniques are used to carry out work on trees. We do not carry out lopping or topping.
Trees are pruned to:
- Maintain their health and safety
- Prevent physical damage to property
- Ensure roads and streets are kept clear
Storm damage to our tree stock and other urgent works can delay the street tree pruning programme.
