About the Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme
The Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme is being carried out to:
- Enhance pedestrian and cycling facilities
- Support active travel throughout the area
- Complement other town centre regeneration projects, including Bury Market regeneration.
The scheme will improve connectivity and safety for people who are walking, wheeling and cycling to local facilities.
The scheme will be delivered in two phases.

Funding
This active travel scheme is funded by UK Government, as part of a wider commitment to encourage healthier and more sustainable modes of transport.
The new features explained
The scheme includes new and upgraded crossing points, traffic calming measures and filtered neighbourhood features.
