Levels of available parking can be an influential factor in determining peoples’ choice of mode of transport. There are many conflicting and competing issues concerning parking standards, which are outlined below. These issues need to be addressed in line with current planning guidance, and with regard to the parking situation that exists in Bury.
The purpose of this Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is to expand upon parking policies contained within the Bury UDP and in other relevant planning guidance. Parking standards and design issues are addressed for vehicles, cycles and Two-Wheel Motorised Vehicles (TWMVs) e.g. motor cycles.
