During the coming weeks the people of Bury will pay their respects to those who sacrificed so much in conflict.
It’s been a special year of Remembrance with the 80th anniversaries of VE Day and VJ Day. As a town with a proud military history, we've also commemorated other significant occasions this year, such as Minden Day, Gallipoli Day and Armed Forces Day.
For the first time we are holding a Festival of Remembrance and parades, services and wreath-laying ceremonies will also be taking place across the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday.
Events have been planned for Bury, Prestwich, Radcliffe, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Unsworth, Walshaw, and Whitefield, while Armistice Day includes a short ceremony in Gallipoli Garden, outside the Fusilier Museum.
