Bury’s cultural landscape is shaped by a dynamic network of organisations working both collaboratively and independently. Together, they form the Bury Cultural Organisations Group, made up of representatives from town centre cultural venues.

These partners play a vital role in delivering the Bury Cultural Strategy, embedding its values into the heart of our communities. Whether through live music, heritage, visual arts, education, or storytelling, each organisation contributes to a shared vision: a borough where culture is co-created, inclusive, and transformative.

Community Contributors

While the Bury Cultural Partners Group represents many of our town centre cultural venues, we also want to recognise the wider network of community groups, grassroots organisations, and independent creatives who play a vital role in shaping Bury’s cultural identity.

These groups may not be formal members of the Cultural Organisations Group, but their work is essential to the success of the Bury Cultural Strategy. Through local events, workshops, storytelling, heritage projects, and creative outreach, they bring culture directly into neighbourhoods—making it accessible, relevant, and inclusive.

Whether it's a community choir, a local history society, a youth theatre group, or a neighbourhood arts collective, these contributors help ensure that culture in Bury is co-created by and for its people. Their efforts support wellbeing, strengthen community ties, and empower residents to tell their own stories.

Culture in Bury is not confined to venues - it lives in our streets, our stories, and our shared spaces.

We are committed to continuing to work with and support these groups, ensuring that everyone in Bury has the opportunity to participate in, shape, and lead cultural life.
