Figures and statistics of homelessness and social housing demands in Bury - April 2022
Housing applications
- 431 new housing applications received
- Average 28 working days to process an application
- 1,484 applications on the housing register
- 701 require a one bedroom property
- 370 require a two bedroom property
- 333 require a three bedroom property
- 70 require a four bedroom property
- 10 require a five bedroom property
Note: The council do not have any five bedroom properties in their stock. Applicants with a five bed need are able to bid on larger four bed properties that have a separate downstairs reception room.
Waiting times
Applications on the housing register have been waiting on average:
- 364 days for a one bedroom property
- 436 days for a two bedroom property
- 545 days for a three bedroom property
- 723 days for a four bedroom property
- 820 days for a five bedroom property
