  • 431 new housing applications received
  • 2067 applications on the housing register, which breaks down as follows;
    • 1047 require a one bedroom property
    • 519 require a two bedroom property
    • 418 require a three bedroom property
    • 67 require a four bedroom property
    • 16 require a five bedroom or more property

Waiting times

Applications on the housing register have been waiting on average:

  • 448 days for a one bedroom property
  • 604 days for a two bedroom property
  • 756 days for a three bedroom property
  • 692 days for a four bedroom property
  • 740 days for a five bedroom or more property.

Advertised properties

The number of properties advertised on the Bury Home Options website:

  • 22 one bedroom properties, of which 11 were retirement living properties
  • 11 two bedroom properties
  • 3 three bedroom property
  • 0 four bedroom properties.

Housing advice and homelessness

  • 399 new cases opened
  • 989 active cases open on 31st January 2026
  • 260 households required advice only
  • 51 households were threatened with homelessness
  • 48 households were accepted as being homeless.

Temporary accommodation

  • 35 households were placed in temporary accommodation
  • 143 nights: the average number of nights staying in temporary accommodation
  • 9 households secured accommodation
  • 231 households in temporary accommodation on 31ast January 2026, of which:
    • 177 families with a total of 439 children
    • 41 single people

Footfall and access to services
