Investing in Warmer, Greener Homes Across Bury

We're continuing to improve homes across the borough through our planned capital programme, supported by funding from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Social Housing Warm Homes Fund.

More than 450 properties have already benefitted from energy efficiency upgrades, including new windows and doors, insulation, ventilation, solar panels and low-carbon heating. A further 400 homes are due to be improved in 2026–27, helping to create warmer, healthier homes while reducing carbon emissions.

Tenants have reported positive results, with many experiencing warmer homes and lower energy bills.

Alongside this work, contractors have supported local communities through open days, skip and litter clearance initiatives, and by helping residents remove unwanted items. They have also worked with Bury College students as part of social value commitments, delivering engaging sessions to support skills development and future careers.
