Bury EST will provide support to yourself and the individual every step of the way, from deciding to offer a work placement to discussing which tasks the individual will carry out and providing in-work support as necessary.

No, Bury EST will provide you with advice and information required with each individual placed within your workplace. 

These are the same as your responsibilities to your own employees. Bury EST will conduct a health and safety appraisal and risk assessment prior to placing an individual in your workplace.

The Health and Safety (Training for Employment Regulations 1990) state that for the purposes of work experience the individual is classed as an employee. Therefore, your employer’s liability insurance should cover the individual.

Work experience placements are extremely flexible and can be arranged to suit your business needs. We usually prefer a work placement to be for a set number of hours during a week for 6-8 weeks, but our experienced Placement Officer will liaise with you to work out the best plan for you.

A basic induction would include fire evacuation procedures, first aid arrangements, a tour of the workplace, any prohibited areas and an introduction to their Mentor.
