If you find a stray dog and it has a collar with a tag that identifies it, please contact the owner as soon as you can.

Where you can take a stray dog
You can take a stray or lost dog to the following collection centre on any day of the week, between 9am and 4pm.

If you cannot keep the dog secure you should contact an animal rescue centre who may be able to assist you.
Dangerous dogs
If a dog is out of control or otherwise dangerous, please contact Greater Manchester Police on 101 as this is a Police matter.
Micro chipping
Micro chipping is recognised as the most effective and secure way of permanently identifying a pet. Once microchipped, the unique identification number is registered to the animal and the owner's details are placed on a national database. It is the law for all dogs to be microchipped.
