Site works will generally take place during working daytime hours from Monday to Friday. Due to safety requirements and to help minimise the overall duration of the beam replacement works there will be temporary periods of overnight and weekend works. This is currently planned to take place:
- Friday evening 9 May, working continuously through to Monday morning 12 May
- Saturday evening 24 May, working continuously through to Monday morning 2 June.
A small crane is planned to be in use for aspects of the beam replacement work at times.
How disruption will be kept to a minimum
- Noisier works will be scheduled during daytime and evening working hours, where possible, rather than at night or early morning
- Noise reduction measures such as acoustic blankets and enclosures will be used, where practical
- Contractors will be instructed to keep site noise to an absolute minimum as far as practicable
- Eco-friendly solar powered temporary welfare units and site offices will be used
- Battery powered LED lighting will be used within the work area
- Residents, businesses, and premises close to the sites will be contacted by direct letter with information about the environmental impact in advance of the works
