Parking for Radcliffe Library
On Monday 2 June the car park next to the library will be unavailable.
From Tuesday 3 June until late 2025 parking at Radcliffe Library will be limited to no less than two standard and two disabled parking bays. There will be no change to the usual library opening times. See below for more detail.
Works to convert the current Radcliffe Library building at Stand Lane into a multi-functional enterprise centre will begin during June, following the establishment of a site compound to support the contractor’s day-to-day operations.
The library situated on the first floor will remain open during the conversion works, but due to the site compound, parking will be reduced to no less than four parking spaces (two standard bays and two disabled bays).
The new enterprise centre will provide much needed flexible working space, along with meeting rooms and business support services. It will also help small businesses start up and grow.
This £2.8 million project has been funded by UK Government (£1.9m) and Bury Council (£900k).
Conversion timescales
- June 2025: Site compound set up and enterprise centre conversion programme begins.
- November/December 2025: Completion of ground floor conversion.
Initially the enterprise centre will be situated only on the ground floor. After spring 2026 when Radcliffe Library relocates from the first floor to the new £40 million Radcliffe Hub, the enterprise centre will expand into the rest of the building.
