Major investment in crucial improvements at Bury’s World Famous Bury Market are soon to be delivered that will ensure the market can continue to thrive for many years to come.

How the improvements will be funded
- £20 million grant from the Government
- Approximately £13 million investment from Bury Council
What this major investment will provide
- A new flexi (multi-purpose) hall
- A more attractive and visible outdoor market
- Enhanced public spaces around the market
This funding also supports the future success of Bury town centre as a whole and is a crucial part of the Bury Masterplan which will transform the heart of the town centre over the next 15 years.
Included in the masterplan is a redeveloped Mill Gate shopping centre and a new, improved transport interchange.
Bury Market regeneration – funding bid
Bury Council’s funding bid for Bury market regeneration was submitted in summer 2021 and approved during the autumn of 2021.
