This multi-million-pound project funded by £20m from UK Government and approximately £13m from Bury Council, will bring the following to Bury Market.

- A more attractive and visible outdoor market
- Enhanced public spaces around the market
The new Bury Market Flexi Hall
The Bury Market Flexi Hall will complement the market's overall offer and expand the diversity of groups who use it, while also continuing to retain and support existing customers.
It will be a new purpose-built, high quality, energy-efficient events hall able to accommodate:
- Cultural, leisure and live performances,
- A food and drink offer
- Space for business and community use.
The Flexi Hall will also be utilised to support residents’ wellbeing.
A more attractive outdoor market
Improvements to ensure the outdoor market can continue to thrive, include:
- New over sailing roof canopies above the stalls and pedestrian walkways
- Access and service improvements to create a more visible, high-profile entrance from key vantage points of arrival
- Measures to support sustainability and decarbonization (including future installation of solar panels)
- A range of other repairs and maintenance works
Enhanced public spaces around the market
The Bury Market regeneration project includes enhancements to the public spaces, to create new spaces that will:
- Better link Bury Market with the town centre, including Bury Interchange, Bury College, Mill Gate shopping Centre and Kay Gardens
- Provide a high quality, outdoor environment which people will want to visit and spend more of their time in.
- Create flexible outdoor space to host events, including pop-up trading, community and other live events
- Improve wayfinding signage, seating and landscaping.
Business as usual
Bury Market will be open for business throughout the Bury Market regeneration project, including during the construction phase of the flexi hall and while enhancement works are carried out to the outdoor market.
