Work has begun on the £33m Bury Market regeneration project ensuring the market can continue to thrive for many years to come!
New canopies are currently being installed to create a more attractive and visible outdoor market and construction of the Flexi Hall has started.

Bury Market will be open for business throughout the regeneration project, including during the construction phase of the Flexi Hall and while enhancement works are carried out to the outdoor market.

Site works update - November 2025
Flexi hall
- Finish the ground floor slab, to provide a stable base for the external and internal walls
- Finish the roof
- Install fire protection to the ground floor and first floor
- Finish installing drainage
Canopies
Canopy 1
- Finish works on the mechanical and electrical systems including, lighting, fire alarm system, installing distribution boards, fitting low level steels to the canopies and decoration to the canopy soffits
- Install upright cladding and flashings, to help insulate the canopy and make it weather resistant
Canopy 2
- Complete
Site works - stages
- September to November 2025: Complete market canopies installation
- December 2025 to February 2026: Continue flexi hall construction
- March to May 2026: Start landscaping improvements and start flexi hall internal works.
- June 2026: Scheme completion
