Business as usual

Bury Market will be open for business throughout the Bury Market regeneration project, including during the construction phase of the Flexi Hall and while enhancement works are carried out to the outdoor market.

The enhancements planned to regenerate Bury Market have been shaped by the feedback received from extensive consultation undertaken during 2023, when scheme designs were shared online, in the press, via social media, and at a series of face-to-face public drop-in sessions held at Bury Market.

In finalising the designs, feedback from members of the public, market traders and other Bury town centre partners and stakeholders has been considered.

Design stages

  • Winter 2023:  Public consultation
  • August 2023:  Planning consent granted
  • Autumn 2023 to early 2024: Construction designs prepared and further feedback sought from market traders and other town centre stakeholders

The enhancement designs are now developed in detail and construction has started on site.
