The Fusilier Museum

Supporting our armed forces

Hello everyone. I want to draw your attention to a special event being held in Bury next week for our veterans and their families.

They are all invited to the Armed Forces Covenant Conference to discuss - and discover - the help available in Bury for them.

It is held at the Fusilier Museum in Moss Street, Bury on Tuesday 16 September from 10am to 2pm (light lunch provided).

The event will showcase the work that valued local community groups and networks in Bury do, and the work of public services on delivering their Covenant duties.

It’s open to all members of the Armed Forces community including friends and family; voluntary and community colleagues who support armed forces and veterans locally; public service colleagues delivering on Covenant duties; and businesses looking to learn more and connect into support to communities.

Bury has a proud military history, and our armed forces veterans have given us so much over the centuries.

To register your attendance at the event, email armedforces@bury.gov.uk

or go to the website https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1595655250809?aff=oddtdtcreator

Also – please see all the support available – from housing and health care to job opportunities – on our website here: www.bury.gov.uk/armed-forces-personnel.

In the meantime, good luck to all those taking part in the Bury running festival this weekend. It’s good for health, and meeting new friends, and it’s another part of the jigsaw in creating happy communities across our borough.
