In a public place
If you find needles, syringes, or any type of drug-related waste in a public place, please contact us so we can arrange for their safe removal.
Report drug-related waste promptly by phone.
- Call 0161 253 5353 between 8.45am and 5pm, Monday to Friday or 0161 253 6606 outside of these hours.
When you report drug-related waste you will need to tell us:
- where the items are and their exact location;
- what the items are; and
- if you have any photographs of the items.
We will remove drug-related waste within 48 hours.
Nitrous oxide cannisters can be reported as normal litter.
At a school or nursery
If you see needles or other drug-related items on educational premises let the staff on the premises know immediately.
In your home
Do not put sharps, needles, or syringes in your household bins. If you need to throw away these types of items, please speak to your GP practice about how to dispose of them safely.
Anti-social behaviour associated with dealing and taking drugs
We view anti-social behaviour as any aggressive, intimidating or destructive activity that damages or destroys another person's quality of life. We work closely with the Police, Six Town Housing and our other partners to prevent and address issues of anti-social behaviour.
If a serious crime is taking place or you are concerned for someone's safety you should immediately report it to the police by telephoning 999.
