Bury Council Housing Services works with Bury Commercial Services to keep communal areas in our housing blocks clean, safe, and pleasant for everyone.
What’s Included in the Cleaning Service?
Cleaning takes place every two weeks and includes:
- Removing litter and keeping hallways, stairs, and landings clear of obstructions.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, stairs, and landings.
- Dusting banisters, skirting boards, ledges, and windowsills.
- Cleaning internal windows and glass (where reachable without ladders).
- Removing graffiti where possible or reporting it.
- Reporting broken lights and abandoned items to Housing Services.
How We Monitor Quality
- A selection of blocks is inspected weekly to make sure cleaning meets our standards.
- Monthly meetings are held between Housing Services and Commercial Services to review progress and resolve any issues.
