Willow Street and Hazel Avenue Day of Action

On Wednesday 10 June, we held a day of action around the Willow Street and Hazel Avenue in Bury.

Over the course of the day, we helped clear 6.74 tonnes of waste via three skips and a cage. Staff and partners provided support to residents, helping move rubbish, litter pick around the area, and speaking with residents to understand any local issues or concerns.

We engaged with 110 volunteers, assisted 43 with disposing of rubbish and completed 3 neighbourhood surveys. We received some positive comments from tenants about the day:

“Thank you so much for this, we have been waiting a long time for this to happen.”

“It's great to see all the staff helping out at the event.”

We'd like to say thank you Walnut Avenue Allotments Association, the local community allotment, for lending a helping hand and providing volunteers with refreshments on the day.
