Taggwood Estate Day of Action
On Thursday 24th September, a Day of Action took place on Dundee/Taggwood Estate, Ramsbottom. The event brought together residents, local councillors and a range of partner services to work alongside our teams in supporting the local community and helping to improve the neighbourhood environment.
A total of 39 volunteers, including housing staff, waste management teams and local councillors, were on hand throughout the day to support residents in disposing of unwanted household items. Together, 2.8 tonnes of waste was collected, with three cages of rubbish removed from the estate.
As well as helping residents clear unwanted items, volunteers spoke with local people, carried out Tenant Satisfaction Surveys and took part in a community litter pick. These activities helped to keep the area clean, tidy and welcoming for everyone who lives there.
Residents shared positive feedback about the event, with one commenting:
"Thank you for the skips. What a great help. I'm so glad I can get rid of some bits I've had stored up."
As this was our final Day of Action of the year, we would like to thank everyone who has volunteered, attended or supported these events throughout 2026. Your involvement helps make these days a success and contributes to cleaner, safer and more welcoming neighbourhoods. We hope you have found these events useful, and we look forward to continuing to work together to support our communities in the future.
