Noisy Neighbour Removed: Positive Changes Reported in Powell Street

This month, a resident living on Powell Street in Bury has been evicted following numerous complaints about loud music, shouting, and fighting, at the property.

Residents in the area provided ongoing evidence of disturbances, which included loud music, shouting, and foul, abusive language at a home on Powell Street. Despite warnings from the council and the Police, the tenant did not stop.

The tenant was convicted for breaking a noise abatement notice. This allowed us to begin legal action to take back the property.

The case took time, but in March 2025, the tenant was evicted, and neighbours have since reported an improvement in the area.

At Bury Housing Services, we’re committed to dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). By working with tenants, residents, and agencies, we aim to make our neighbourhoods safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you’d like to report ASB in your area, you can find out more here.
