Gardening Day at Griffin House helps improve communal area
On Wednesday 6 August, tenants, staff and other services came together at Griffin House for a community gardening morning, transforming the communal garden into a cleaner, brighter space for everyone to enjoy. The event focused on clearing rubbish, tidying up the grounds, and planting fresh flowers to bring new life to the area.
The initiative was supported by our Community Grant Fund, which helped cover the cost of plants and decorative touches. Our Community Grant Fund continues to support local groups in delivering projects that benefit our tenants and communities. Informal groups, such as gardening or social groups, are also eligible to apply for funding for small-scale initiatives or events.
Volunteers included Housing staff, BEST, Staying Well staff and residents from the scheme, all lending a hand to make the garden more welcoming and enjoyable. A big thank you to everyone who took part and contributed their time and energy. Your efforts have made a real difference, and the garden is already being enjoyed by neighbours and visitors alike.
