Gardening Day at Falcon House

On Wednesday 8 October, tenants, staff and other services came together at Falcon House for a community gardening morning, transforming the communal garden into a cleaner, brighter space for everyone to enjoy. The event focused on clearing rubbish, tidying up the grounds, and planting fresh flowers to bring new life to the area.

In preparation for the event, a dedicated Community Payback team supported our efforts by clearing away litter and trimming back overgrown bushes surrounding the garden. Their work helped transform the space into a tidy, welcoming environment, ensuring our volunteers had a clear and open area to work in throughout the day.

The initiative was supported by our Community Grant Fund, which helped cover the cost of plants and decorative touches. Our Community Grant Fund continues to support local groups in delivering projects that benefit our tenants and communities. Informal groups, such as gardening or social groups, are also eligible to apply for funding for small-scale initiatives or events.

Volunteers included Housing staff, caretakers, and residents and staff from the scheme, all lending a hand to make the garden more welcoming and enjoyable. A big thank you to everyone who took part and contributed their time and energy. Your efforts have made a real difference, and the garden is already being enjoyed by neighbours and visitors alike.
