Chapelfield community comes together for clean-up day
Residents and volunteers came together on Wednesday 30 September for a community clean-up day aimed at improving the Chapelfield estate and encouraging local pride.
The event was organised by the Chapelfield Tenants and Residents Association (TRA), working in partnership with Bury Council Housing Services. The clean-up formed part of the TRA’s ongoing work to reduce excess waste, tackle fly-tipping, improve the appearance of the estate and bring the community together.
The day was supported by contractor Emanuel Whittaker, which donated a skip and provided staff support as part of its social value commitment to local communities.
Feedback following the event was positive, with the Chair of Chapelfield TRA saying: "Thank you to everyone who joined the Chapelfield clean-up. It was great to see the community come together and work as a team to make our area cleaner and tidier for everyone to enjoy."
