Carr Clough Day of Action

On Wednesday 19 August, a Day of Action took place in Carr Clough, Prestwich, bringing together local services, councillors and residents to help improve the neighbourhood and support the local community.

A total of 14 volunteers, including housing staff, waste management teams and local councillors, helped support tenants with disposing of unwanted household items, helping to keep the area clean and tidy. Together, we collected 4.76 tonnes of waste, with three cages of rubbish emptied.

We engaged with 37 residents, assisted 14 households with disposing of unwanted items, and completed three Tenant Satisfaction Surveys. Volunteers also carried out a litter pick around the neighbourhood, filling six bags of rubbish, helping to make the area cleaner and more welcoming for everyone.

There was plenty for families to enjoy too, with craft activities and face painting helping to keep local children entertained throughout the event.

Residents shared positive feedback about the day, including:

"Thank you for providing us usage of skips. This is a really good idea for the area."
