Intermediate rent allows you to rent a property on selected sites at 80 percent of the full market rent. For example, if the full market rent is £500 per month, applicants on the Affordable Housing Scheme will pay £400 per month.

Intermediate rent eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be registered with the Affordable Housing Scheme
  • have lived in the Bury borough for the last 6 months or more before applying
    • for joint applicants, only one must meet this criteria
  • have no current or previous rent arrears or history of anti-social behaviour with the council
  • not own any other residential property in England or any other country
  • be in permanent employment and have a household income of less than £80,000 per annum
    • applicants on temporary contracts may not be accepted.
