The theme of this year's Dementia Action Week (May 13 to May 19) is improving dementia diagnosis rates which is vital to give people care, treatment and support they need.

Events during this week
- Tuesday 14 May, 11am-1pm - Goat’s Gate Inn Pub in Whitefield - Dementia Support Group with attendance from The Alzheimer’s Society to provide information and advice.
- Wednesday 15 May, 11am-3pm : Time for a cuppa event hosted by Home Instead, 116A Bury New Road, Manchester M45 6AD. Pop in and join in for a cake, a cup of tea, games and prizes.
- Thursday 16 May: Tesco- Prestwich from 9.30am until lunch time there will be a stall from The Alzheimer’s Society and information and advice available from The Alzheimer’s Society
- Thursday 16 May, 4.30-6.30pm - Dementia United’s online delirium training session for carers. The training will cover: What is delirium? How to prevent delirium; Identifying the causes and signs of delirium; Getting help when you need it. You can find out more and register here:
- Monday 20 May, 10am-3pm - Shared Lives dementia champion available at the drop in at the Green Café, Clarence Park, Walmersley Road.
