If you're planning to apply for a premises licence, you can apply for a provisional statement. A provisional statement indicates the likelihood of a premises licence being granted when you do happen to apply for a premises licence.
You can apply for a provisional statement for a premises that will be used for one of more licensable activities and while a premises is:
- being constructed
- soon to be constructed
- being extended or altered.
By applying for a provisional statement, you can demonstrate the plans of the proposed structure and an operating schedule. This may give confidence in any investors, as they may not commit to a financial investment without the assurance that a premises licence will be granted.
Provisional statements must be advertised and notified to responsible authorities and comments are welcomed, which are also known as 'representations'.
