Who’s responsible?
The successful delivery of the strategy relies on strong local leadership and collaboration. The Bury All-Age, Work and Skills Strategy and its delivery plan will be owned by Team Bury, a partnership of key local organisations working together to improve outcomes for residents.
Key partners include:
- Bury Business Leadership Group
- Children’s Strategic Partnership Board
- Public Service Reform Board
- Health and Wellbeing Board
- Anti-Poverty Steering Group
- Regeneration Board
These groups are all aligned with the wider LET’S do it! Strategy ensuring that work and skills development is integrated with broader goals like health, housing, and economic growth.
Integrated approach
The strategy is not a standalone plan, it’s part of a joined-up system that connects with other local strategies such as:
- Bury Economic Strategy
- Education Strategy
- Transport and Housing Strategies
- Cultural and Anti-Poverty strategies
This integrated approach ensures that skills development supports wider ambitions for inclusive growth, community wellbeing, and economic resilience.
Monitoring progress
To ensure accountability and impact, the strategy includes:
- A delivery plan with clear actions and outcomes
- Regular reporting to the governance boards
- Ongoing collaboration with employers, education providers, and community organisations
The aim is to track progress, share success stories, and adapt quickly to changing needs.
In summary
The governance structure ensures that:
- The strategy is locally led but aligned with Greater Manchester priorities
- Delivery is collaborative and cross-sector
- Progress is measured and transparent
- The strategy supports the LET’S do it! vision of a fairer, more prosperous Bury
