BEST Training
The Bury Primary Learning Collaborative was set up in 2011 as the changing educational school system moved to a schools supporting schools model. Its aim was to support schools and their staff to be the best they can be in order to improve the life chances of all pupils in their care. The schools created a pot of funding which maximised budget capacity for professional development, allowing schools far greater access to training than they could afford singularly. In 2018, following the closure of the training centre at the Seedfield site, schools formed BEST Trust, an independent charitable organisation.
The Trust works with a range of providers including individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other educational organisations. The BEST training programme is determined by its members, discussions with Bury LA, DfE policy and the latest OFSTED Framework. It is continually updating in order to serve the varied needs of its members.
Membership of BEST Trust saves time and money by buying in to an all-inclusive package which allows school staff free unlimited access to all our training sessions. We recognise not all schools have the budget capacity to buy into an annual Service Level Agreement so BEST allows pay-as-you-go, per person access to training, although this is far less cost effective.
BEST welcomes applications for courses from school staff across all sectors. School governors, LA personnel and parents are welcome to book onto training sessions, as long as they have permission from their school or department. Booking can be made through our web site www.besttrust.uk if your school is registered on our database or by emailing training@besttrust.uk
