About the funding
The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced in the Budget 2018, the Government is allocating £420 million in the 2018/19 financial year for local highways maintenance, including the repair of potholes, to keep local bridges and structures open and safe, as well as to help aid other minor highway works that may be needed.
Bury Council was allocated £903,000.
Repairs carried out in Bury
The additional £903,000 allocated as part of the 2018 budget has been utilised to increase minor and reactive repair capacity. The monies have also allowed for additional planned maintenance footway and carriageway repair programmes, including surface dressing preparation works.
