The future is bright for Bury
Hello everyone, I want to start this week’s blog by expressing my gratitude for all our residents who showed compassion and inclusivity during the previous weeks’ disorder.
We saw the shocking scenes happening across the country and while I am proud that we did not see similar scenes in Bury, I want to reassure you all that myself, the council and partners are continuing to work together to keep our communities safe.
Bury has always been a diverse borough which is something that should be and is celebrated. We have many amazing things happening in our near future, including our regeneration schemes, brownfield housing and development and a new high school opening in Radcliffe this September.
Of course, our future is not simply about building infrastructure it’s about you. I know many of our young people over the next couple of weeks will be eager to get their A level, BTEC and GCSE results.
Results can be an understandably daunting time for many, and I want our young people to know that no matter what, Bury has options for you!
As the lead for Skills across Greater Manchester, I am dedicated to providing high quality technical skills and education. Ensuring our future generation have the abilities required to flourish across all different career sectors.
Congratulations to all our young people on their results, and I also would like to wish good luck to all those starting school this September, whether you are going into a new year or new school.
The future of Bury is bright, and I have no doubt that as our young people grow, we will be able to offer them more and more opportunities throughout our inclusive borough.
