Run for one, run for all
Hello everyone, and like many of you I’ve just about recovered from running the Bury BID 10k on Sunday.
It was a fantastic event, which has become a firm fixture in Bury’s sporting calendar. More than that, it’s a great way to bring families out onto the streets, having fun and enjoying the benefits of getting healthy.
I want to say a huge thanks to all the volunteers and organisers who make this annual event the success that it is. And I was even more pleased to beat deputy leader Tamoor Tariq to the finish line – by a country mile!
Back to council business, and we have some big decisions to make at cabinet next week. Among them is a positive report about Bury Art Museum, which we propose to re-roof at a cost of £600,000. This will safeguard the building’s future for decades, and protect our valuable heritage for future generations to enjoy and learn from.
We should also have good news about special needs provision in the borough and the new Radcliffe Enterprise Centre, along with updates on Bury Market and the Places for Everyone masterplan.
Whether it’s health or wealth, by working together we can all make our borough the best place it can possibly be.
