The Private Rented Team have many incentives in place.

  • Bury Council lease and repair scheme for up to five years.
  • Tenant finds only service.
  • Rent and Bond scheme.
  • Empty Property Loans.

Our greatest need is for family accommodation in Bury. However, any size property from a one-bedroom flat to a large family home across Bury and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Properties should be unfurnished and in good condition. Priority is given to providing homes for Bury residents within the borough. Sometimes residents want to move out of borough so we will consider properties outside of Bury on a case-by-case basis.

Once Bury Council Private Rented Team have supported a client into private rented accommodation, customers will receive resettlement support for a minimum of 6 months to help support sustain their tenancy with ongoing support.

Minimum Property Standards (HHSRS)

Under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), a dwelling should provide a safe and healthy living environment for both the occupants and any visitors.
