The Scheme
Falcon & Griffin House are located in East Bury, Bell Lane and Rochdale Old Road. There is a small parade of shops including a chemist and medical centre. The retirement scheme is well served by a number of bus routes running from the town centre, which is around three miles away.
The Flats
Falcon House - 20 1-bed flats and 15 1-bed bungalows.
Griffin House - 20 1-bed flats and 14 1-bed bungalows.
There are also a number of bungalows available on the close which benefits from the support packages that Falcon & Griffin House offer.
This retirement scheme slightly differs from the other schemes that are available. The scheme is a joint venture between Adult Care and Bury Housing Services which provides 24 hour care and support to you.
The care and support is provided by Adult Care Services Home Care Team who have a minimum of 2 staff on duty, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
An assessment of your needs will first be carried out to make sure that our Extra Care Scheme is suitable for you.
The flats benefit from double glazing, central heating, smoke alarms and a TV aerial point. They all have a fitted kitchen with a small electric cooker provided. They are also decorated throughout with your own choice of carpets and vinyl flooring where appropriate.
The Communal
The modern communal areas have been newly decorated with complimentary carpets, curtains and seating and the lounges and communal kitchen can be used by all the residents.
Various activities are held in the communal lounge including coffee mornings, bingo and days out. The lounges can also be used for individual or group celebrations such as parties. Residents have the choice of getting as involved as they wish to in these activities.
Communal grounds are maintained by the council leaving you to enjoy without worrying about weeding and mowing the lawns. The grounds can also be a setting for getting together and enjoying the sunshine.
There are on site laundry facilities a lift for access to all floors and a guest room which can be used by relatives visiting. All the schemes have free parking for residents and visitors.
