Townside Estate Action Day

On Thursday 20th March, we held an Estate Action Day on Townside Estate in Bury which allowed tenants free use of skips to clear any rubbish they had and to get involved with litter picking around the area.

A number of partners were there to provide advice and support including Bury Housing Staff, Waste Management, Councillors and the Fire Service.

Thanks to funding from our Community Grant, Townside Action Group volunteers transformed Heyside Way by planting flowers and greenery in three communal garden areas.

Together, we removed a total of 2 tonnes of waste, engaged with 33 tenants, and completed 11 Tenant Satisfaction surveys. These surveys are key to understanding your views on our services and identifying areas where we can improve.

One tenant from Townside estate said: "The street sweepers came out at 8am this morning and he has done a lovely job, must say above and beyond the call! Thank you so much for all your help, it’s a different place.”
