Racecourse Walk Community Action Day

On Wednesday 25 September, we held a Community Action Day on Racecourse Walk in Radcliffe to bring the community together and raise awareness of the new Community Group being set up for the local area.

Partners such as Greater Manchester Police, Achieve and Waste Management joined Bury Housing staff and Councillors to give advice and support. Residents and staff helped pick up litter in the area and Bury Housing’s Caretakers assisted many residents with disposing of rubbish, household items and emptying contaminated recycling bins.

14 residents attended and 9 volunteered to be part of a new Gardening Group which aims to improve the large, grassed square on Racecourse Walk.

The new community group’s official launch meeting is on Tuesday 8 October, 6pm at Radcliffe Football Club to which all the community are invited. The group, consisting of residents from Allen Street, Racecourse Walk and Pavilion Walk, aims to make the area better, cleaner and safer for residents and to help provide a collective voice for the area to bring about positive change.
