Bury Housing Services staff helping at the estate action day

Outwood Estate Action Day

On Wednesday 21 August, we held a Estate Action Day around Outwood Estate in Radcliffe which allowed tenants use of skips to clear any rubbish they had, get involved with litter picking around the area and access support and advice from multiple partners and services.

We were joined by staff from Bury Adult Learning, Welfare Support, Waste Prevention and Recycling and Sure Maintenance staff. Sure Maintenance also donated an additional skip on the day to help remove rubbish which was greatly appreciated.

Altogether, we cleared around 6 tonnes of rubbish and engaged with about 25 tenants and residents to discuss local issues, repairs and their views on Bury Housing Services. 11 local children helped with litter picking and enjoyed the planting activity with volunteers from Incredible Edible Brandlesholme.

We'll be running another estate action day on Tuesday 24 September, on Warth Estate, Bury, 11am - 1pm.
