Our 2025 Estate Action Days

Since March 2025, we have held 6 Estate Action Days for tenants across Bury. The aim of these events is to allow tenants free use of skips so they could clean their homes and gardens, engage with tenants to discuss any issues or repairs they’d like to report, and clean up around the estate to improve the look of the neighbourhood.
Over these 6 events, we have helped tenants clear 28 tonnes of rubbish. We engaged with 239 tenants which included reporting repairs jobs, completed surveys and helping them dispose of items. We also completed 40 surveys. These surveys are key to understanding your views on our services and identifying areas where we can improve.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us run these action days. We had over 140 volunteers, which included housing staff, Councillors, live well service staff, Greater Manchester Police, Bury College students, waste management, and local community groups.
Here is a list of some of the quotes we received from tenants during these action days:
“Many thanks for arranging todays community clean up. It was great to see so many Tenants out and about engaging with the council services showing their pride in the neighbourhood.”
"It’s great the Council are putting on these sorts of days, it’s putting money into making the estate and homes better.”
“I love living here.”
“Nice to see staff engaging with Tenants."
“A very big thankyou to everyone that have been involved in the day, it’s made a difference.”
We will be continuing our Estate Action Days in 2026 so keep an eye out to see where we'll be going to next!
