How our Housing Officers help tenants

Our Housing Officers are trained to spot when something doesn’t feel safe in a home, and they work hard to make sure all our tenants and their families are in the safest conditions they can be.

Two of our Housing Officers visited a young vulnerable tenant who had a young baby. They weren’t on the right benefits and were missing out on receiving money they were entitled to. Due to the lack of funds, the tenants couldn’t afford the correct sleeping arrangements for the baby.

The Housing Officers worked with the tenant to get all their benefits in place and applied for funding and grants they were eligible for. With the help of Brandlesholme Food Bank, they also managed to get a cot with a mattress, that was built by another Housing Officer, a travel cot, baby clothes and a food parcel for the tenant. The team also worked with our Caretakers who helped deliver a washing machine that we relocated from a void property, as the tenants didn’t have one.
