Fire Door

Fire Door Safety Week

This week, from 22 to 26 September, we’re proud to support Fire Door Safety Week 2025, a national campaign raising awareness about the vital role fire doors play in keeping residents safe.

Fire doors aren’t just another part of your building, they’re life-saving barriers designed to hold back fire and smoke, giving you and your neighbours precious time to escape in an emergency. But they can only do their job if they’re in good working order.

As a tenant, you play a key role in fire safety. Here’s how you can help:

  • Keep fire doors closed: Never wedge or prop them open. A closed fire door can contain a fire for up to 30 minutes or more.
  • Report damage immediately: If you notice missing hinges, broken closers, or signs of tampering, contact us as soon as possible.
  • Keep areas clear: Keep all communal areas clear of obstructions such as plant pots, prams, mobility scooters and bikes.
  • Know what to look for: Fire doors often have a blue “Fire Door – Keep Closed” sign, intumescent seals around the edges, and a certification label on the top or side.

As your landlord, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of fire safety across all our buildings and communal areas.

We will continue to carry out regular fire risk assessments and inspections, working proactively to keep every tenant safe. But fire safety is a shared responsibility, and your vigilance matters. If you notice any issues with fire doors or other safety features, please contact us here.
