Changes to communal cleaning

Over the past 12 months, we have been listening to residents’ views that the communal cleaning in some of our blocks of flats needed improving. Following this feedback, from October 1st 2024 as part of our service improvement plans, the Council have increased the frequency of cleaning of the communal areas in blocks of flats to a fortnightly basis.

This service will include fortnightly sweeping and mopping of entrance halls, stairs, and landings and wiping of handrails, skirting boards, and window ledges. We feel that an increase in the number of cleans will improve the cleanliness and assist with addressing other issues such as identifying those responsible for dumping waste within the blocks.

To ensure that we can clean the blocks thoroughly and to ensure all tenants remain safe within their homes, we would like to ask you to ensure that the communal areas are kept free of rubbish and obstructions such as bicycles and furniture.
